Students will learn about a variety of topics ranging from biology, geology, chemistry, and physics to technology, engineering, robotics, and forensics. Each student will participate in activities during class and take home a lesson guide and at-home activity! Space is limited and classes fill up quickly, so register today!

WHO COMES TO CLASS? One adult chaperone per family will stay in the classroom. Due to space limitations, we cannot guarantee space in the classroom for non-participating children.
March 29: Food Science
Become a STEMLAB chef and explore healthy eating habits with the food pyramid! Learn about how bodies function with different nutrient groups. Participate in hands on activities, from making art with candy to learning about the pH scale with changing tea colors!
April 12: Florida Natives
We live in a unique state that supports a diversity of animals with roughly 700 species of freshwater and land vertebrates! Several of these species are found nowhere else in the world! In this class you will learn about the different kinds of Florida natives, from alligators to ospreys to key deer. Additionally, you will have a chance to meet our resident corn snake Beaker and learn all about his Florida native cousins!

Have you ever wondered how marine animals survive in the ocean? Why do some ocean animals prefer warm water, while others like the cold? Learn all about these incredible aquatic animals and their different adaptations that help them thrive in the environment. Discover why the ocean is so important to us and learn how we can help protect it for future generations.
May 10: Everglades Survival Guide
Oh no! You and your classmates have become lost in the heart of the Florida Everglades. Have no fear! Your Everglades survival guide is here! Join us at this exciting event where you will learn what it takes to survive in the wild. Unearth how to purify water by using the elements around you and discover how to start a fire using the “fire triangle.” Search for the Everglades native wildlife, learn what venomous vs. poisonous means and find out what animals are safe to approach, and what animals you should steer clear of!
May 24: Florida Coast Survival Guide
Ah barnacles! You and your classmates are lost on a deserted island off the coast of Florida! Fortunately for you there is a STEMLAB survival expert who is there to help! The ocean covers approximately 71% of the Earth’s surface. In this course, you will uncover what it takes to survive in a tropical paradise. Learn about coastal herbal medicine, foraging methods, and items you can collect to help catch a fish. Get comfortable with simple first aid techniques and discover the truth behind the Bermuda Triangle!
